A 90s girlie...

I was born in 1989. That means I grew up in the 90s. Because of that, I grew up watching 90s TV shows and listening to 90s music. I also played 90s video games, of course.

Video games, you say?

Yes. I love video games. My first game system was the Game Boy. I got it for Christmas in 1996. It's a yellow 'Play It Loud' series Game Boy. My first game for it was Toy Story. I also have a Nintendo 64, which was the first TV based console I got brand new. I got it for Christmas in 2000 along with Hey You, Pikachu!. I loved renting N64 games at Blockbuster back in the day. The first games I rented were Super Mario 64 and Cruis'n World.

My first console that hooked up to a TV was the Super Nintendo, a console which belonged to my brother, and that he gave to me in 1997 (although for reasons I'll perhaps get into later, I couldn't play it until 1999.) My first game for it was Populous, but I also got Super Mario World the day I first actually got to play the darn thing.

So what about TV shows?

Ah, yes. Well, one of my favorite TV shows of the 90s was Home Improvement. I thought Tim's antics were hilarious. I have a specific memory of being in the office of my grandparents' house, watching the episode where Tim tries to break a board with his head. I don't remember which episode that was specifically, just like I didn't back then.

In the late 90s and earlier 2000s, I watched two program blocks on ABC. TGIF, and One Saturday Morning. The first one had shows such as Boy Meets World, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The other had Saturday morning cartoons such as Pepper Ann, Doug, and Recess. I loved those shows (although I didn't watch Pepper Ann much back then because it made me feel self-conscious about having red hair, which I hated as a kid because people made fun of me for it.)
